Very informative. They have a pirate festival every year around October and it's so awesome.

Fantastic museum. Tells the story of the Naval history of the Civil War often not told. Really worth a visit. Great for students as well.

The CSS Chattahoochee, a steam-powered sailing ship built to protect Columbus, Georgia, during the Civil War, was sunk by Confederate Naval officers in April 1865. Watch this video for more info.

The CSS Jackson was an Ironclad ship. While made out of mostly wood, the outside of the ship, above the waterline, is reinforced with iron plating to provide "clading." Watch this video for more info.
