International Slavery Museum
The International Slavery Museum opened on 23 August 2007 - international Slavery Remembrance Day. The date was also significant because 2007 was the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade in Britain, and the city of Liverpool's 800th birthday.
World Museum
World Museum is the oldest of the museums and galleries operated by National Museums Liverpool. It first opened on 8 March 1853 in the Ropeworks district of Liverpool, and it moved to its present site on William Brown Street in 1860.
