They have recently done minor renovations to the hotel. Most of the Texas-themed figurines on the wall of the breakfast room has now been replaced with standard Comfort Suites signage...

Be careful not to burn yourself turning off the shower. Counterintuitively, the handle controls temperature and the knob on THAT turns it on and off.

It's not Texas shaped pancakes, it's Texas shaped waffles. And, FYI Texas shaped waffles are offered in most Texan hotels.
