Small nice port for ferries, it takes 3,5 hours to Dublin. You may leave your rented car here and travel to Dublin by ferry. Irish Ferries has brand new ships, I recommend.

Basic facilities, 'meh' toilets, shop/cafe is not open for all sailings. But it's dry and joined to the train station.

The Royal Mail post box is sealed up at night. I had to travel on the old road to another as there's a small one on the left, easy to miss, just before the Tesco roundabout

Send your wife to the car park and sit in the terminal with the bags. This allows you to register with the cloud for your free wifi.

Stena has cheaper food and has free wifi + bus to dublin central. Irish ferries charge double for food and 8Euro for an hour wifi and 3euro for the bus

If you have a couple of hours to spare, head out to Seacroft in Tredegar Bay, brilliant grub and setting is great.

If you are arriving by foot after midnight & don't want to sit & wait in the port for 4 hours to get to London, quickly speak to the staff on sales desk who may be able to put you on a Eurolines coach
