People need to learn how to park! On the other hand, folks who can’t park for shit mean there are still some, albeit rubbish, spaces left even at 9am.

Very large, underused and *free* car park next to the city and with highway access to Germany, France and Belgium. Perfect for car pooling and of course the buses.
